Summer is right around the corner, and whether you’re jetting off for a relaxing vacation or soaking up the season with a staycation at home, one thing remains constant – your home should be safe, secure, and effortlessly stylish. With smart home automations, you can achieve the perfect balance between top-notch security and those summer vibes you crave.
Here’s how you can combine technology and convenience to create automated scenes that secure your home while you’re away or set the stage for the ultimate summer staycation.
Improve Home Security While You’re Away
Vacations are all about relaxing and recharging—but leaving your home unattended can cause unnecessary stress. Smart home automations can ease your mind with simple solutions to keep your home secure and make it look occupied while you’re away.
Key Automations for Summer Security:
Timed Lighting: Automate indoor and outdoor lights to turn on and off at various times. This gives the impression that someone is home, deterring potential intruders.
Smart Shades: Set your blinds or shades to open and close at specific intervals. Not only does this simulate everyday activity, but it can also help protect furniture and floors from harsh sunlight.
Music or TV On: Use smart plugs or speakers to play background music or turn on your TV at random times during the day.
Remote Monitoring: Curious if the house sitter is watering the plants or bringing in the mail? Check your green “pets” or piles of mail in the entry hall by having a peek through the mobile app and connecting to your home control panel to look around inside.
When you combine these automations, you create an environment that gives would-be burglars second thoughts while giving you peace of mind to enjoy your vacation. Now that’s what we call smart summer security!
Create a Perfect Staycation Scene
Not going anywhere this summer? Whether you’re hosting friends or indulging in some much-needed me-time, smart home automations can help you set the perfect mood at any time of the day.
Staycation Automation Tips:
Light the Mood: Dim the lights or switch to warm-toned bulbs to create a cozy, relaxing vibe. Choose times to adjust the lights to keep the party going or to wind things down.
Background Music: Use smart speakers to queue up your favorite playlists. Set an upbeat scene for an upbeat afternoon BBQ (Scene: Yacht rock and indoor climate temps up since you’re outside for the party) or a soft jazz evening with dimmed lights and cooler indoor temps to get some relief from the dog days of summer!)
Cool Comfort:Set a scene that lowers the shades on the sunny side of the house and adjust your thermostat to idea settings to keep your home cool.
Movie Mode: Take movie night to the next level by syncing your lights and shades. Lower the blinds, dim the lights, and turn on your sound system with a single command to recreate that theater experience at home.
These small changes can transform an ordinary day at home into something extraordinary.
Why Smart Home Automations Are Part of Breezy Summer Living
Smart home technology is no longer a feature of the future; it’s here and ready to transform the way we experience everyday life. Beyond its ability to protect your home while you’re away or elevate your relaxation when you’re in, it provides:
Convenience: Smart automations save time by handling tasks you’d otherwise have to do manually.
Energy Efficiency: Many smart home devices, like thermostats and shades, help optimize energy use, saving you money while being eco-conscious.
Customization: Tailor scenes and automations to fit your lifestyle and preferences perfectly.
Peace of Mind:Whether you’re home or away, smart devices give you real-time control and updates, so you’re always in the loop.
Take Your Summer Vibes to the Next Level
This summer, don’t leave your home security or vibes to chance. Bring the power of smart home automations into your life and experience the perfect blend of practicality and enjoyment.
Bring on the summer vibes and peace of mind!
